ATTEND FORMAL ON FRIDAY THE 27TH!
You’re more than welcome to bring a plus one and rock out the night with all of your AED friends! It’s at Brocach on the Capitol Square from 8-11pm on Friday the 27th. Link Link to buy tickets. They are $15 each to help cover the cost of food and space rental for our awesome formal! You are encouraged to wear AED colors (Red, Gold, Black), but it is not required whatsoever! Wear whatever colors you feel comfortable wearing. It is a semi-formal event. See you there!!
Make sure to drop by AED’s Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry tomorrow at Memorial Union from 10-3pm!

How many digits of pi can you ramble off?
We were sad that Amy Parins could not join us last night, but we made do! Thanks to the officers who stepped up and told us about ways to get more involved in our communities through research, volunteering, and medical work. It was also cool to hear from Ian, the Kaplan representative who told us how to get free study guides from Kaplan!
Several events are coming up, so keep an eye on that google spreadsheet! Next meeting, we’ll have an ER Doc coming in! See ya there!
This week we have Amy Parins, a Physician’s Assistant, speaking at our general meeting on Tuesday, March 13th at 6pm!
Amy Parins is a clinical instructor at the UW Physician’s Assistant Program! She will be discussing how she decided PA vs. MD, the milestones and turning points in her career, and giving us some advice for navigating the field of health sciences.
We also have been offering some amazzzzing events such as volunteering on live TV, skating with AED, and Alzheimer’s Research days; check out the google doc under Events for upcoming opportunities!

What a month! With a wonderful meeting with Dr. Navsaria, a fundraiser at Salad’s Up, Thanksgiving break, and some great events, we have just one more meeting this semester! Dr. Thomas Sutula will be speaking on December 5th. Make sure you meet with your mentors/mentees and fill out the form under Documents! AED is also going a fundraiser for Costa Rica on December 1st in the Chemistry Building! Come get a coffee and a donut!

Reminder to bring non-perishable food donations to the meeting tomorrow! The 10.28 post has a list of items they need! Each can of beans, each box of brownies, etc, each individual food item counts as one point! You can earn up to three points from donating food tomorrow! Also, DRESS UP IN YOUR HALLOWEEN COSTUME FOR THE MEETING FOR A POINT! And attending gets you two points automatically so wow SIX POINTS! See all of you crazily-costumed, do-good donators at the AED meeting tomorrow at 6!
This week’s meeting will be featuring Erin Hastey, a Medical School Admissions Coordinator! Meetings, as always, are in 5206 Social Sciences at 6pm on Tuesday 10/31! We know it’s Halloween but it’ll be a great opportunity to hear about what medical schools are looking for in applicants like us!
We are also helping with a Food Drive for the Neighborhood House, a community center offering free services such as after-school child care, adult fitness, community meals, and more for people who need it! We will be accepting donations at the meeting and for the rest of this week. See the pictures for recommended items!

What an awesome meeting with MD/PhD student Ryan Denu on Tuesday! We have several awesome events this week so make sure to check out the Events sign up sheet! Reminder that you can get 4 social media points and get an awesome way to rep your fave club by buying our shirt!! $20 with your shirt size due by Tuesday, October 24th at 11:59pm, payable to our treasurer’s venmo handle: Edwin-Neumann, or to our mailbox in the SAC (125).
Waitlist problems: If you sign up for an event that has a waitlist and you no longer can attend, you MUST contact someone from the waitlist to take your place. Email them and move their name into your slot. It let’s everyone plan better. If you do not do this, we will deduct points from your total active status.
We’ll be having a spooooooky meeting on Halloween! On October 31st, you get to hear from Erin Hastey, a Medical School Admissions Coordinator at UW! See you there! Wear your best costumes!

What an awesome week filled with some crappy weather. Hopefully we see the sun a little more this weekend! We have some super cool events on the docket! Go ahead and check them out under the Events Tab. One of the events is a tour of the Babcock Dairy Plant on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 pm! There are only ten spots so make sure to grab yours early!
Even better update: BUY YOUR SHIRTS! We are now offering 4 Social Media Points as incentive to buy shirts! You get to rep your favorite club in style and make gains towards earning free gear! How awesome is that! Shirts are $20! You can pay via cash, personal check, or venmo our awesome Historian Edwin (venmo handle: Edwin-Neumann). Make sure to include your size in your payment! You also can drop off check and cash in envelopes to the AED mailbox in the SAC (box 125). The deadline to order shirts is October 24th at 11:59pm!

You can now view your points and keep track of how active you are in AED! You can find the Points Spreadsheet under the Documents tab! If you don’t agree, message our historian with what is wrong. Keep in mind it may take two weeks for an event’s points to be updated!
