It’s that time of year again for AED Elections! Please check out the new webpage under the tab “2017-2018 AED Leadership.” Here you can find all the info you need on how to apply, position descriptions, and the application documents. Any questions feel free to reach out!
Our first general meeting will be Tues. Jan 24 from 6-7pm with speaker Rachel Cooper. She will be presenting to us about the opioid epidemic affecting many communities around the country. We will learn how to identify an opiate overdose as well as be trained on how to administer the legal antidote narcan. This meeting will help us be on the leading front of a national problem, so come listen to learn more!
Welcome to Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honor Society 2016-2017! We have a lot of exciting events and opportunities for this upcoming year. As we get the year started, just a quick reminder to pay your dues ($20/semester) to Shannon during a meeting or drop off a check to our mailbox in the SAC #125 (due by 10/18). Sign-ups for events are through a Google Drive link on our website and will be included in our weekly emails. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Your officer board is excited to get to know you; feel free to say hi after a meeting or schedule a coffee break to come and chat!

With summer coming to a close, our new board members are working hard to plan a great year for all of you. We hope that you’ll be patient as we continue our preparations and update our website! If you have questions in the meantime, please contact our President, Claire Fernandez. Her email can be found on our “Contact Us” page. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you all in a few weeks!
We hope that your semester is finishing off splendidly. Just to keep you updated, our last general meeting is on Tuesday, May 3rd from 6-7pm at Ingraham B10 and we will be holding elections for the AED 2016-2017 Officer Board. Not only will this be an important meeting to voice your opinions about next year’s AED leaders, but it will also be worth 5 points! So be sure to be there!
Now, if you’re worried about your active status, do not fret! We have a few last minute point-earning opportunities in these next few weeks:
- End of the Year Cookout at Edward Klief Park | Thursday, May 5th from 5:30-7pm
- AED Study Day at Location TBA | Sunday, May 8th from 10am-12pm
For both events, we’ll be providing food/snacks, plus these are great last-minute ways to meet a few more members of AED before we head off for the summer.
Good luck with these last few weeks of classes. Hang in there–we’re almost done!

To kick off the new year, we thought we’d update our website! So welcome–we’re excited to have you this semester. Our goal is to make this website your one-stop-shop for any information and questions you may have in regards to AED, so take a look around and let us know if there is something you can’t find. If you have any issues navigating the site, please let us know too so that we can fix them, because we want to make this as easy as possible for you.
With “Spring” in full swing (supposedly…although today’s snow says otherwise), we invite you to share anything that can help us make AED a better student org for you, because ultimately, our goal is to see our members accepted to medical school, and our role is facilitating that process and shaping our members to be competitive medical school applicants. We are here to make your experience the best possible, so let us know if and how we can improve.
We are looking forward to a great rest of the semester with you! Stay awesome!
