ERIC MALAMUD, President
My name is Eric and I will be your President this year. I am a senior double majoring in Neurobiology and Entrepreneurship. I have been in AED since my freshman year and I am extremely grateful for the professional and social opportunities that the club has provided me with. Outside of AED I am part of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity, Wisconsin Alumni Student Board (WASB), Project Malawi, and a research lab in the Biomedical Engineering department. Please feel free to come to me to ask any questions about how you can get involved in both medical and social clubs at Madison. I can’t wait to continue to improve the opportunities that AED provides its members with. Feel free to approach me throughout the year with any ideas, concerns, or questions you have as I would love to serve as a resource for all of you.

Hello my name is Morgan Blaser. I will be a junior this year majoring in Biology and Psychology with certificates in criminal justice and leadership. I currently work as a phlebotomist at St. Marys Hospital and in an animal research lab studying how oxidized lipids are related to cardiovascular diseases. I hope to one day become a reconstructive trauma surgeon or medical examiner. When I am not working or studying, I love going to football games, hanging outside, traveling or playing volleyball. I have been involved with AED for three years now and have never regretted it! Contact me if you ever have questions!
RACHEL GEROUX, Secretary

Currently I will be volunteering at Meriter, and will be shadowing surgeons at UW Health. For fun, I love to ballroom dance, read and tune into medical tv shows. In the long run, I aspire to become a cardiothoracic surgeon.
KAYLA RASMUSSEN, Historian
Hi everyone! I’m the Historian of AED, meaning I am the person to contact if you have any questions or concerns about your membership status. I’m also a senior majoring in genetics with a certificate in global health. I’m currently applying to medical school and would love to chat and answer any questions you may have about that process! Outside of AED, I’m also involved with the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Community Health Volunteers of Madison, and Badger SPILL. In my free time, I like to hang out with friends, binge-watch Netflix, go to Zumba, or enjoy a night on the terrace. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about AED, classes, medical school, etc! I’m looking forward to a great year with AED!
EDWIN NEUMANN, Treasurer
I am a junior studying Biomedical Engineering with certificates in Global Health and Excellence in Stem Cell Sciences. I am one of the heads of the writing department for the Wisconsin Engineer Magazine on campus, a volunteer at St. Mary’s hospital, and I also conduct stem cell research in the Sridharan lab at the WID. In my free time I like to sail, paint, play ultimate frisbee, swing dance, practice my guitar, and read science fiction. I intend to pursue both an MD and PhD as part of a dual degree program to continue studying tissue engineering, which I hope to apply directly to patient care by relieving organ shortages.
JENNA POWELL, Public Relations Chair
Hello everyone! I am a junior this year at our fantastic UW. I am working towards a Neurobiology major with a certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies. I volunteer as a Patient Resource Navigator at Wingra Clinic. I love everything arts and see as many musicals as I have time and funds for! I love hiking and adventure, so if you ever need a Devil’s Lake trip buddy, let me know! I’ll be taking my GRE in the coming year as my current plan is to get my Masters before Medical School. I love coffee, so hit me up for one of those officer coffee breaks if you have any questions about emergency medicine, want to discuss music, or are from MN and need someone to chat about how much better our state is!
